Rutland, VT-Jeffrey Scott Beattie, 52 of Rutland, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, February 13, 2017 upon arrival at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 31, 1965 in Hudson, NY.
Jeff grew up in Salem, NY graduating from the Salem Washington Academy in 1984.
He had been a longtime resident of Seattle, WA prior to relocating to Rutland in 2012 and worked for many years as a carpenter for several companies.
He enjoyed hiking, camping, watching hockey and loved animals.
Survivors include his father and step-mother Richard and Linda Beattie of Salem, NY; his mother and step-father Leanne and Paul Sanderson of Rutland; sisters, Jennifer (Doug) Watson of Brookhaven, GA and Tammy (Mike) Linder of Walworth, NY; a brother, Keith (Tina) Beattie of Granville, NY; step-sister, Megan (Greg) Davis of South Burlington; an aunt, Dianne (Claude Armstrong) Beattie of Manchester Center; an uncle, Theodore (Karen) Bullinger of North Branch, MI. He is also survived by niece and nephews, Judson, Jared, Caleb, Jacob & Emma.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Karl Beattie, Elizabeth Beattie, Lorraine Buckley and Kenneth Ramsden.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service which will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Salem United Methodist Church, 29 West Broadway, Salem with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. A reception will be in the fellowship hall following the service.
Interment will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland.
